Some evenings just have the right energy. Last week's collaboration with The Oyster Stand at Superfreak in Marrickville was one of them.
Tucked away in the best corner of Marrickville, Superfreak opened its doors to something a little special. The Oyster Stand's early winter iteration: a 90-minute oyster and wine experience exploring the interplay of salinity, fruit, and seasonality. Three distinct oyster expressions, each finished with a winter citrus dressing and a matched drink. The kind of night where you learn something without realising you're being taught.
Lighting down low. Flowers from Date Night Studio bring beauty to every table. A record spinning. And every drink is served in Cadeau glassware.
There is something about the right object in the right moment. A drink lands differently when the glass it arrives in has been considered. It signals care before anything else. It connects the person pouring to the person receiving, and everyone around the table.
That is what the Cin Cin Wine Glass, Cin Cin Coupe, and Orb Tumbler were doing on the night. Not decoration. Not background. They were the thread that ran through every course, every pour, every conversation that opened up across the table.
